During the Elective General Assembly on May 13th, Philippe Manassero was elected President of the Departmental Olympic and Sports Committee of the Alpes-Maritimes for the 2013-2016 Olympiad. After two assemblies that showed a clear division between the two groups that legitimized the debate, will there be a period of settling down?
This will be the occasion to see if the new president will be a man of consensus or, on the contrary, will want to impose his style.
Philippe Manassero succeeds Jean-Paul SERRA, who, after 22 years of presidency, was not able to be re-elected. Philippe MANASSERO, 57 years old, married, a Fire Officer at SDIS 06, has held numerous positions in the world of basketball, particularly in refereeing.
He began his career as a player in Nice and then in St Laurent du Var before taking off in refereeing, where he was an international basketball referee for nearly 20 years.
First Vice-President of the Departmental Basketball Committee of the Alpes-Maritimes and also First Vice-President of the Regional Cรดte dโAzur Basketball League, Philippe MANASSERO also holds the position of Vice-President in charge of High Level within the National Bureau of AFCAM (French Association of Multisport Refereeing Staff).
His term is for four years according to the 2013/2016 Olympiad, after two months of interim provided by Mr. Christophe GARIN. The Executive Committee will meet very soon to form the bureau and the various commissions.
The Min dโAzur en Fรชte, which will take place on June 1st and 2nd in Nice, route de Grenoble from 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., will be one of the first strong actions of this new departmental Olympic team.
From now on, the CDOS 06 is organized with a dynamic president, surrounded by an ambitious team for departmental sports.
