2012 Legislative Elections: Jacques Peyrat Ready for the Battle in Nice’s 1st Constituency

Latest News

“Yes, I am 80 years old but I am not senile…” proclaims Jacques Peyrat amidst the general hilarity of his supporters. Peyrat, a former mayor of Nice and a candidate in the 2012 legislative elections, is supported by the Entente Rรฉpublicaine (his party), the National Front, Nissa Rebela, the RPF, and the Royalist Alliance. All the “real” right, in short. Objective: to be present in the second round and then… why not?

peyrat-8.jpg It was on the occasion of the inauguration of his campaign headquarters, located at 15 Boulevard Saint-Roch, that the former mayor of Nice regained his eloquence as a criminal lawyer, as he likes to say. Principal accused? His successor, Christian Estrosi, of course, to whom Jacques Peyrat has still not forgiven “the betrayal” during the previous municipal election.

To the point of considering this year’s legislative elections as a “subordinate” compared to the “main” one, in the legal language dear to the man of law, the 2014 municipal elections during which he plans to settle scores with “the usurper”!

And in his advocacy style without ambiguity, he adds: “I like defending thugs in jail, but I do not want hoodlums at City Hall, those profiteering from public funds.”

Continuing, he states: “Nicolas Sarkozy lost his position for not having allied with the National Front. It was a mistake because it allowed the left, a minority in France, to elect their candidate to the Presidency of the Republic. I therefore call on all militants who recognize themselves in the values of the Nation to bring about a union, agreement, platform or gathering to oppose the takeover in all institutions.”

And to conclude: “Everyone says that the 1st constituency (The only completely Nice one) will be the mother of all battles, a true battle of leaders. The outgoing deputy, instead of thinking about the interests of the inhabitants, was mainly concerned with presenting well to secure a ministerial seat. Now that this has become impossible, he rediscovered his constituency! I want to create a surprise!”

Jacques Peyrat’s declaration of faith did not stray from the classic themes of the right-wing front: The place of the Nation in Europe and the world, the end of market dictatorship, the abolition of multiple mandates, the fight against uncontrolled immigration, radical Islamism, and finally the affirmation of republican secularism with the establishment of a popular initiative referendum.

But, it is still to the “duo” Estrosi-Ciotti that Jacques Peyrat addresses his final words: “They will be responsible for the financial collapse of the city. Besides, don’t forget they were already there at the time of Jacques Mรฉdecin! So same cause, same effect. They are said to be tied by a deep friendship. But it was true in the past. Today it is a struggle between the two for supremacy. Besides, I am curious to know who will be the first to wield the knife to stab the other!!!”

Indeed, Jacques Peyrat’s military past always resurfaces, continuing to make the former mayor an “indomitable lion.”

The response to voters!
