The Mayor of Nice, accompanied by great champions, drew the final bracket for the 3rd edition of the Nice Côte d’Azur Tennis Open. The top four seeds – Isner, Monfils, Almagro, and Simon – are qualified for the round of 16, and exciting matches are scheduled on the courts of the Nice LTC, including: Juan Carlos Ferrero facing Robin Haase, Nikolay Davydenko against Matthew Ebden, and a French showdown between Benoît Paire and Edouard Roger-Vasselin.
While waiting for the names of the last four participants from the qualifiers being played today and tomorrow, a balanced bracket emerged from the draw held this afternoon at the Nice Côte d’Azur Open village.
Gilles Simon and Gaël Monfils are not expected to meet until the final, with the former having to face opponents like Isner, Tomic, and Istomin, whereas the latter will battle challenging adversaries such as Almagro, Ferrero, or Fognini. Meanwhile, the two French players will rest for this first round and may get to see their next opponent in action: the Ukrainian Sergiy Stakhovsky or one of the qualifiers for Monfils, the Israeli Dudi Sela or a qualifier for Simon.
A week promising to be most enjoyable on the hill of the Parc Imperial, which was already bustling yesterday for this qualification day offered for free by the City of Nice.
