Throughout France, companies and their employees rallied for the second edition of the Dรฉfis Mecenova, organized by the association IMS-Entreprendre pour la Citรฉ, to carry out solidarity actions benefiting associations!
In Nice, to support the volunteer engagement of their employees, 8 companies (Albax, Banque Populaire Cรดte dโAzur, Clinique Saint Dominique, Convers Tรฉlรฉmarketing, Le Groupe La Poste, SAP Labs, Schneider Automation, and Texas Instruments) participated in a speed-dating event with associations seeking volunteers.
The goal of this speed-dating: to allow employees to find their ideal match in associations within various fields such as the environment, health, education, or international solidarity!
Orchestrated by IMS PACA, this event brought together about fifty employees and ten local associations whose volunteer needs had been previously assessed: the Association of Paralyzed People of France, Sound Libraries, the French Red Cross, Farmer Seeds, Mediterranean 2000, Restaurants du Cลur, and the Departmental Committee for Adapted Sport.
Occasional logistical support, provision of professional or technical skills as part of a project, mission to accompany people in difficulty, or mission to accompany association leaders: these are projects to which employees were invited to contribute!
Some employees chose to commit to a one-time event with an association, while others are ready for more regular volunteer work throughout the year. It all depends on organization, availability, and above all, passion and enthusiasm!
On this occasion, IMS delivered the results of a study on employee volunteering, revealing the role of volunteering in companies. According to the survey “Volunteering and You”:
- 88% of employees are in favor of companies offering volunteering opportunities to their employees.
-80% of employees are indeed ready to participate in volunteering actions initiated by their company.
- 30% of responding employees declare themselves as volunteers: therefore, employee volunteer engagement is close to the average engagement of the French population (30% vs 36%).
