The French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF), representing the sports movement, is concerned about the measure proposed by the Ministry of Budget to reduce the corporate tax deduction percentage for donations to associations from 60% to 30%.
Sports sponsorship represents an annual investment by French companies of around 120 million euros. It also offers significant growth prospects and serves as an essential lever providing a link between the corporate world and sports associations.
Therefore, the CNOSF calls for the maintenance of the current tax system and reminds of the commitment made by President Franรงois Hollande during the presidential campaign to “maintain the specificity of association financing” and “not to abolish the tax deduction on donations.”
Having raised awareness with the Ministry of Sports about its initiative, the CNOSF is partnering with other actors of the French associative movement to urge the Government to consider the consequences of such a provision.
