Rain and sunshine alternated, sparing the summer from rain during the final of the Triathlon Grand Prix yesterday. The public was on the Promenade des Anglais in the morning to cheer on the 1500 participants in the Grand Public Distance M race.

triathlon-nice-3.jpg After 2 hours, 3 minutes, and 32 seconds of racing, the Rochelais Valentin Rouvier crossed the finish line victorious, winning his first title in a national event. Olivier Marceau (Saint-Raphaël) finished 5th, more than two minutes behind.

Third in their respective finals of the French Interclub Championships, Sunday in Nice, Vincent Luis and Jessica Harrison nonetheless clinched the title.

Indeed, Luis finished behind two Spaniards, triple world champion Javier Gomez and Fernando Alarza, while two Britons, Non Stanford and Vickie Holland, dominated the women’s event.

Current world champion under 23, Pierre Le Corre secured the silver medal and Aurélien Raphaël the bronze. Among the women, Emmie Charayron and Léonie Periault completed the podium.
