It is in the setting of the Albert 1st garden that the now-traditional “Nice 100% Sport” event will take place from July 20 to August 19, 2012, showcasing numerous sports disciplines such as boxing, pétanque, beach volleyball, foot volley, beach rugby, sandball, and basketball. Spectators will be able, throughout the month, to discover numerous demonstrations and high-level tournaments but also participate in activities and competitions reserved for them such as Europétanque, one of the most prestigious pétanque contests in the world, or the Beach Volleyball tournament for vacationers and students.

THE NICE 100% SPORT PROGRAM
BOXING GALA: Friday, July 20, 2012
Kicking off the NICE 100% SPORT event, this boxing gala will offer you a new international lineup. The winner of the previous edition, local Denis Saioni, will set out to conquer a new WBO belt against an opponent yet to be determined.
The program also includes other professional and amateur fights featuring Nice boxers Lucas Talovic and Samuel Lemarchand.

The South is a land of pétanque enthusiasts, a discipline that includes over 6,000 clubs and 320,000 members in France under the auspices of the French Pétanque and Jeu Provençal Federation (FFPJP).
This year, Nice will host the 11th edition of Europétanque, a prestigious tournament deeply rooted in the local landscape, gathering the best players worldwide. Our city thus becomes the world’s pétanque capital every July for the enjoyment of players and numerous onlookers during this summer season.

Have the “beach attitude” as Nice hosts the Nice Beach Volleyball Pro Tour, six days of sporting madness day and night with high-level Beach Volleyball and Sand Volleyball tournaments.
The positive image of these disciplines, the athletic physique of the athletes, the international and national level of the competitions will once again ensure the success of the Nice Beach Volleyball Pro Tour, offering the public the pleasure of an unforgettable spectacle.

Originating from the beaches of the South Pacific islands, Beach rugby is a fast and spectacular game combining speed, technique, and tactics. For the first time, Beach-Rugby makes its appearance within the NICE 100% SPORT.
This year, the DEPARTMENTAL RUGBY COMMITTEE 06 will organize, over three days, supervised activities and will provide valuable advice on Beach-Rugby practice.

SANDBALL: From Thursday, August 9 to Sunday, August 12
The Sandball is a derivative of handball played on sand with teams made up of 3 field players and 1 goalkeeper. This practice was developed by the champion handball team (the Barjots) in 1995.
Since last year, as part of Nice 100% Sport, CAVIGAL NICE HANDBALL organizes a national tournament over four days. Come and admire spectacular matches in a fun and musical atmosphere.
