At a time when the government is finalizing the National Transport Infrastructure Plan, the Regional Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur reaffirms the determination of its consular network to have the “LGV PACA” file included among the priority projects. On this occasion, the RCCI calls on regional and local elected officials to engage in this mobilization.
An essential issue for our Mediterranean regions and for France
In a letter addressed on July 23 to the President of the Republic François HOLLANDE, Dominique ESTEVE, President of the RCCI Paca, expresses his delight that as RFF’s consultation phase concludes, the major “LGV PACA” project is one of the rail projects being examined by the Commission of experts and parliamentarians.
He recalls that a consensus recently emerged to evolve the project, incorporating a strong regional network dimension: combining high speed and local service, freeing up an existing saturated railway line and congested road access, resulting in safety, time savings, and environmental benefits.
In this letter, Dominique ESTEVE also emphasizes that the connection with the Italian rail network meets the ambition of a “Thalys of Southern Europe” linking not only the major metropolises of southern France to Genoa and Barcelona but also to Milan and Madrid, with the Genoa-Milan corridor being included in the European Union’s plan.
Mobilization of all actors is essential
Alongside this approach toward the President of the Republic, the RCCI Paca invites regional, territorial, local communities, and State bodies in the region to join the government’s awareness effort on the LGV PACA, a major issue for our competitiveness.
For the file to be selected as a priority project of the National Transport Infrastructure Plan, included in the investment schedule and in the strategy defined within the community space, Dominique ESTEVE calls for the mobilization of everyone.
