The Guitar Festival celebrates a golden milestone.

Having become the must-attend event for guitar enthusiasts in the Alpes-Maritimes, the Nice Guitar Festival once again delivered on its promises this year. More than 850 people attended the concerts organized by Michel Mazza, the Festival’s organizer, between October 23rd and 26th.

guitare_nice-2.jpg After an intense opening night with the blues-rock of Eric Sardinas & Big Motor, the concerts by Mike Stern – considered one of the great jazz guitarists of the 80s/90s – and Gareth Pearson – a guitarist who far exceeds the folk-picking style he originates from – enjoyed great success and concluded with a standing ovation.

This 14th Guitar Festival also took the gamble of featuring artists unknown in France, the Botos Family. The gamble paid off as these gypsy jazz musicians, masters of the style in Hungary, and their singer, Laura Ruiz, won over the full-to-capacity audience at the Grappelli Hall of the CEDAC in Cimiez that evening.

However, it was the return of the French rocker Little Bob & the Blues Bastards, in this 14th edition of the Nice Guitar Festival, that stirred tremendous enthusiasm, with a crowd of ecstatic fans standing throughout the concert.

The 14th Guitar Festival has just ended, and Michel Mazza, with the 15 loyal volunteers since its inception, is already working on the next edition. Always in search of new talents and confirmed artists, the 15th Guitar Festival aims to maintain its conviviality and sustain the four evenings of concerts!
