When music succeeds in creating emotion… It was on the occasion of the concert by the Monaco Symphony Orchestra and its interpretation of Hector Berlioz’s Symphonie Fantastique.
The baton was in the hands of Lionel Bringuier, the young and talented Nice native, one of the brightest conductors of his generation. His conducting was lively and sprightly, giving this spirited music all the vivacity it deserves.
One cannot grasp all the originality of Symphonie Fantastique in a few lines. Its cyclic structure and orchestration are full of incredible inventions. From a formal point of view, the symphony demonstrates great freedom, delightfully disharmonious with rhythmic oddities that challenge structures and measures.
Nevertheless, the full house applauded the work and its masterful execution greatly and for a long time.
