Latest News

The awarding of the first Climate Energy Trophies of the Alpes-Maritimes honored the CCI Nice Côte d’Azur with the Sustainable Development / Business Trophy for its Energy Efficiency Project for Lighting in the Saint-André de la Roche area.

With the participation of the Saint-André de la Roche Town Hall and the lighting stakeholders’ group, the project proposes to study all aspects of lighting in the municipality: lighting of private buildings (businesses, industries, residential buildings), lighting of municipal buildings, public lighting. Identifying lighting-related consumption, studying public lighting, and conducting audits are among the actions planned.

With around 5,000 inhabitants, the Saint-André de la Roche area includes an industrial zone, collective social housing, scattered individual homes, a town center with local shops, and a shopping center. It shares common elements with many other areas.

Recommendations intended for the Saint-André de la Roche Town Hall, the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis, public and private building managers, residents, and professionals in the municipality will allow for an effective reduction in energy consumption related to lighting.

Results of the lighting studies

Currently, lighting accounts for 17% of electricity consumption.

Beyond the purely energy-focused approach, the initiative has brought together major institutions like EDF, ErDF, and the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis alongside stakeholders in the lighting sector.

Eco-responsible companies such as Resistex, QUALISTEO, Augier, Ragni, Lumière d’Azur, Orsteel Light, SAGI Maintenance, and SPIE have committed to securing electricity supply by voluntarily offering their expertise, demonstrating the improvements to be made.

Concrete awareness actions are also proposed with days dedicated to the general public and schools through the “C’ pas courant” operation for awareness of eco-gestures, and awareness for artisans and shopkeepers.
