Much ado about nothing according to Gaston Franco

For Gaston FRANCO, the admissibility of the petition against the Plaine du Var โ€œEco-Valleyโ€ OIN proves absolutely nothing and he awaits its results with calmness. “Much ado about nothing!” declares the European Deputy (EPP, UMP, FR).

franco-4.jpg The petition against the Eco-Valley National Interest Operation submitted by certain associations and supported by ecologist elected officials was declared admissible by the European Parliament on November 15, following the analysis by the Petitions Committee secretariat.

“There is nothing exceptional here because the right to petition is enshrined in the treaty on the European Union. In 2012, the Petitions Committee examined 1,986 petitions, with the main theme being the environment! 1,406 petitions were declared admissible, of which 853 were forwarded to the Commission for further investigations,โ€ explains the local European elected official.

“Recently, the Petitions Committee ruled on the issue of the Notre Dame des Landes airport, and the European Commission decided not to open an additional infringement procedure. I am now calmly awaiting the results of the investigation that the European Commission will conduct on the Eco-Valley OIN,” declared European Deputy Gaston FRANCO.
