From October 31 to November 4, from 9 AM to 7 PM, the Paris Games Week will set up at Porte de Versailles for five days dedicated to the universe of video games in all their forms. Demonstrations, competitions, and various conferences will punctuate one of the largest European trade shows of its kind.

paris_gaes_week.jpg The Paris Games Week was born from the initiative of the S.E.L.L. (Syndicat des ร‰diteurs de Logiciels de Loisirs) to promote video games in France and establish it as the essential annual event for all its enthusiasts. To achieve this, all the major players in the video game market (manufacturers, publishers, accessory makers, distributors) gather for five days to showcase the products and services of tomorrow.

The first edition, in 2010, was a great success with over 120,000 visitors, winning the 2010 Viparis Exhibition of the Year Award and the 2010 Heavent Exhibition Creation Award. These more than encouraging beginnings laid the foundation for a trade show that has now become the reference in video games in France. This is evident from a notable increase in visitors (180,000 in 2011) and also from a growing involvement of market players, through the settings, animations, and a desire to give the visitor an active role in the show.

The Wii U, whose release is expected at the end of November, will not be the only attraction of the show, which has established itself in two years as the annual video game event. With a goal of 200,000 visitors, compared to 180,000 in 2011, Paris Games Week will highlight other innovations that will set the pace for the end of the year.

Visitors will be able to test many games set to be released in the coming weeks, including Tomb Raider, marking the return of Lara Croft, Halo 4, Black Ops II, Assassin’s Creed III, Hitman Absolution, Just Dance 4, or Need for Speed Most Wanted.

This year, the third edition of Paris Games Week is going to be even more explosive!
