The Relay Marathon allows covering the 42.195 km of the marathon by forming a team of six runners. 386 teams will participate in this 2012 edition, a significant increase from the approximately 250 last year and the good hundred in the first edition in 2010.

A timing chip serves as the relay baton. It will be attached to the anklet of the relay runner. In each town, a specific area will be equipped to allow the relay to be handed over seamlessly. Within these areas, runners will find refreshments as well as musical entertainment.

Relay 1: Nice – Saint Laurent-du-Var > 8.7 km
Relay 2: Saint Laurent-du-Var – Cagnes-sur-Mer > 3.0 km
Relay 3: Cagnes-sur-Mer – Villeneuve-Loubet > 5.2 km
Relay 4: Villeneuve-Loubet – Antibes Juan-les-Pins > 8.1 km
Relay 5: Antibes Juan-les-Pins – Vallauris Golfe Juan > 10.8 km
Relay 6: Vallauris Golfe Juan – Cannes > 6.4 km
