On Friday, November 9 and Saturday, November 10, from 1:30 PM to 6 PM, at Place Masséna, the City of Nice offers young audiences a space to discover animated imagery with original and unique artistic installations.
The program for these days has been developed by the Cinémathèque of the City of Nice in partnership with the Héliotrope association. They are organized as a prelude to Ciné Récré, the “cinema festival” for children, which will offer a special program in all the cinemas of Nice at the exceptional price of 3 euros for children aged 3 to 12 and their companions, on November 17, 18, 21, 24, and 25.
Also on the program, a magician, mascots, a stilt juggler, a clown, a music and bubble machine, and a face painting workshop.
Entertainment…
The animators at the animated drawing workshop of the Cinémathèque of Nice will invite children to discover the magic of animated images through a Zoetrope and the making of a Thaumatrope…
… and installations
Anne-Lise King’s Cinema Bike
This vintage-style bike recreates the movement of images by pedaling. This interactive installation won the Grand Prize for Creation in 2006.
Anne-Lise King’s Cinematic Path
This is a luminous path composed of plates; each step shows an image and creates the illusion of movement through displacement. This installation received support from the Art Sponsor association, the Institute of Optics, and the Déclics Jeunes grants from the Fondation de France.
Amélie Masciotta’s Film Tubes
With a set of decors and machinery, children can create their own clips.
Katia Vonna Beltran’s Videobooth
Children draw a card on which a theme, a word, or an instruction is written. They settle into the videobooth and improvise in front of the camera.
