sepharades.jpg The first mention of the word “Sepharad” is found in the Bible to designate the Iberian continent. From the mid-14th century, this term refers to Jews living in Spain.

Sharing a common identity, culture, rites, and philosophy, the Sephardim are marked by a history full of twists and turns.

This exhibition retraces the Spanish golden age, the Almohad period, the Reconquista, from the Inquisition to the Expulsion. The iconic figures illustrating this history are numerous.

On the same day at 8:00 PM, there will be a meeting with Clement Stora, Professor Emeritus of Philosophy and President of the Philosophical Reflection Circle of Nice: “The Spiritual and Intellectual Legacy of Sephardic Judaism”
