DécaNation 2011, when athletics is practiced as a team in Nice

Latest News

This year, a major event on the global sports calendar, the DécaNation, where athletics becomes a team sport, is organized in Nice on September 18. The Charles Ehrmann Sports Park, accustomed to national and international athletics competitions, notably hosting the Nikaïa meeting for over 25 years, is reconnecting with its prestigious past.

decanation_nice.jpg Thanks to its innovative concept, where eight nations compete in ten disciplines trying to top the overall ranking, the DécaNation has captivated athletics lovers and sports enthusiasts in general. Nice is expected to welcome the national teams of the invited countries: France, the United States, Jamaica, Germany, Russia, Finland, China, and England (subject to changes).

Scheduled after the World Athletics Championships in Daegu
(South Korea), the 2011 DécaNation will be an opportunity for all fans to find and encourage French athletes, as well as the most illustrious names in international athletics.
The French will undoubtedly aim to offer the Nice audience a quality show and to sustain the team spirit that permeates French athletics.

The goal is clear: to end the season in glory with a collective victory. Let’s recall that during the 2010 edition in Annecy, the French Team finished 4th in the rankings, and the favorite of the 100 m, the extraordinary Christophe Lemaitre, was surprisingly beaten by the American Michael Rodgers.
