The Villa Masséna will be the setting for the traditional ceremony of New Year wishes to the Italian community. Serena Lippi, the Consul General in Nice, and Christian Estrosi will welcome Italian residents and extend their wishes for 2014.
The Italian community is one of the largest among those established in Nice. It is estimated to number more than 8,000 people. However, naturally, there are far more Nice residents of Italian origin, including the Mayor of Nice, who is the grandson of an immigrant from the Umbria region.
Furthermore, many Italians own secondary homes in Nice where they reside temporarily. Not to mention the tourists who make up the largest clientele by place of origin.
This event will renew the bond of friendship between two populations whose relations are flourishing in many areas.
