Until March 22, the painter and draftsman Slobodan is exhibiting at the La Providence Cultural Center. It’s an opportunity to discover a great artist who has been living in Nice since 1977.

It was in front of a large audience that the association “En faim de conte” came to pay tribute to Slobodan for the opening of his exhibition. Present in the room, the artist was able to listen to the storytellers of the association narrate 5 stories related to his paintings.

These paintings, indeed, are bearers of dreams. Stars, planet Earth, young children painting… The naïve artworks are inspired by his legends and folklore.

However, Slobodan is meant to first and foremost signify “freedom” in Yugoslav. A word that can be felt when viewing each of his drawings.

The Semeuse Program Unveiled

The opening of the exhibition was also an opportunity for the La Providence Cultural Center and the Semeuse Theater to share the program for the first quarter of 2015.

“The coming months will be romantic,” reveals Frédéric Rey, the head of the La Providence Cultural Center and the Semeuse Theater. Indeed, many performances will focus on the theme of love. Thus, starting in March, theater enthusiasts will be able to discover “The Heart Has Its Reasons” by Anthony Sorrento. As well as “The Rehearsal or Love Punished” adapted from the book by Jean Anouilh.

“There will also be baroque, popular, intellectual, a bit of rock’n’roll, jazz, and also poetry,” lists Frédéric Fey. Concerts, theater, dance… A packed program for the La Semeuse association, which is celebrating its 111th anniversary this year.
