The African Village offers free activities for all audiences starting at 1:30 PM.
This is the 4th rendezvous at the Théâtre de Verdure, organized by the “Les Voies du Monde” Association. It is proud to present the winners of the “Triangle du Balafon” contest in Sikasso, Mali: the PARISSI Troupe, founded and directed by the international Harouna Dembélé, the festival’s patron.
Selected to represent Burkina Faso among 6 competing countries, the PARISSI troupe won the “Lamissa Bengaly” Trophy with honors, thanks to the group’s undeniable talent and the ingenious diversity of their recent show “The Voices of the Balafon” centered around the ancestor of the Xylophone.
The artistic team of the Center for Arts and Studies expresses through its creation, highlighted by songs, traditional dances, and a multitude of griot instruments, all the energy, magic, and respect for traditions.
In the first part, Musical Fusion “Between Tradition and Modernity.” Guaranteed enchantment and cultural discovery.
Travel during the day within an African village by participating in various free activities open to everyone. There are specially dedicated spaces for early childhood and 6/12-year-olds.
This 4th edition aims to raise funds to finalize the construction of the Center for Arts and Studies in Bobo Dioulasso, Burkina Faso, partially funded by the Alpes-Maritimes General Council and scheduled for inauguration in January 2012.
Also offered are DANCE and PERCUSSION WORKSHOPS
