Opening this Thursday, September 15, 2011, at 5 PM at the Maison de l’Environnement, 31 Avenue de Castellane, in the presence of the young creators and the teaching staff.
Exhibition until October 31.
Winners of the second Environment Trophies organized by the city of Nice, the students from the FAM institution (a school specialized in the fields of personal image consulting, makeup, and special effects) participated in this civic contest in the “education” category by presenting two clothing collections: a recycling collection and a customization collection.
Through these collections, they aimed to show the general public that industrial recycling is not necessarily synonymous with heavy and difficult processes such as crushing, remelting, or chemical dissolution…
Starting from used clothes, recovery materials, sometimes waste, they brought several garments to life. By using simple ideas, they directly transformed the materials, with artistic recycling then emerging as a real alternative to industrial recycling.
Each dress is presented on a mannequin, accompanied by an educational sheet explaining the recycling work.
