The opening act of the centennial celebrations of the Paul Augier School of Hospitality and Tourism, one of the jewels of excellence in education, where many renowned professionals took their first steps and learned the trade.


paul-augier-2-2.jpg The planting of an olive tree was the symbolic gesture of this first day of celebrations, which will conclude with a gala dinner on November 14 at the Acropolis, where more than 1,500 people are expected.

However, the day’s gift was the announcement by the President of the Regional Council, Michel Vauzelle, of the regional authority’s decision to finance 11 million euros for the expansion of the current premises of the school in the Arenas district.

100 other events will take place throughout the year. Among them, the highlighting of international relations symbolized by national meals and illustrated by exhibitions.

The publication of three works: the Recipe Book offered by the Great Chefs from the School, the Memory Book, and the Golden Book of the Centennial. There will also be a reflection on the hospitality-catering-tourism professions, with a strong focus on Niรงoise Cuisine and its two pillars: the Capelina d’Or Circle and the “Cuisine Nissarde” label managed by the Nice Tourism Office, and finally, a cultural and artistic component.

The festive aspect will not be forgotten, particularly with the Centennial Float at the Nice Carnival, the Train des Pignes dedicated to the Centennial on October 12, and many others.

But, the greatest recognition to date will have been the participation in the conception and service of a meal at the ร‰lysรฉe, and the upcoming ones at the National Assembly and the Senate, as well as at the President of the Regional Council’s New Year wishes to the consuls of the region and to the parliamentarians and ambassadors of the Union for the Mediterranean.
