Three exhibitions in three different locations, the 60th anniversary of the League Against Cancer opens the celebrations in the most beautiful way with a rich and varied program that will mark the year 2016.
As part of the “9th European Cervical Cancer Prevention Week,” the Alpes-Maritimes Committee is organizing three photographic exhibitions on the theme “Women from Mother to Daughter,” bringing together portraits of mothers and daughters residing in the Alpes-Maritimes department.
This artistic approach aims to encourage women aged 25 to 65 to undergo screening and to increase HPV vaccination coverage. Cervical cancer causes nearly 1,000 deaths per year in France.
Yet, thanks to screening, it is possible to detect precancerous and cancerous lesions, thus allowing for better treatment or even prevention of cancer development.
