The 4th Edition of the Department’s Vertical Days

October 1st and 2nd: two days dedicated to vertical and outdoor activities in the Alpes-Maritimes at the enchanting site of Colmiane-Valdeblore. Over two days, the Departmental Committee 06 of the French Federation of Mountain Climbing is organizing a festival of mountain sports in the heart of the Alpes-Maritimes, at La Colmiane-Valdeblore.

โ€œThis year again, there will be something for everyone, from the craziest climbing passages to childrenโ€™s courses through the summer activity facilities of La Colmiane.โ€

โ€œA new edition is like a new season beginning, all energies are there to make you have a great weekend in this magnificent setting, at the gates of the Mercantour National Park.โ€

The sporting highlight of the weekend:

  • The Youth Climbing Challenge: it is the engine of this event.

Saturday, October 1st at La Bolline โ€“ Gymnasium of the Mountain High School.
First of the three stages of the 2011-2012 season. The Youth Challenge events bring together nearly 150 climbers aged 6 to 17.

  • Two days for everyone from October 1st to 2nd from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Valdeblore: the Vertical for All, a series of activities and discovery workshops will be offered to the public.

Climbing, abseiling, zip line, ice climbing, caving, tree climbing โ€ฆ discover, initiate, share on artificial walls but also on natural sites.

  • Handisport and adapted sport platform: since 2009, people with disabilities can practice certain mountain sports during the event.

On the program, all-terrain wheelchair, joรซlette, climbing.

In 2009 โ€“ 30 people benefited from these days contacted by the institutional departmental network.

  • Hiking: from family walks to sports hiking, discovering the activity in its playful, sports, and environmental forms.
  • Nocturnal trail: first edition, organized by the Departmental Commission of off-road races.
  • Paragliding baptisms

Children will not be forgotten: equipped with the “Little Climber Passport,” developed in partnership with the General Council to enhance the activities, they will be able to participate in different workshops and try out vertical disciplines throughout a course. Their efforts will, of course, be rewarded at the end of the adventure.

Everyone will also be able to enjoy the many summer activities of the resort (mountain biking, Via Ferrata, horseback riding…)

All these activities are free, supervised by professionals and federal staff to make you want to go further, to go higherโ€ฆ
