The Carrefour and Carrefour Market stores in Nice are rallying for the Restos du Cœur.

As every year, the Carrefour Nice TNL and Nice Lingostière stores, along with Carrefour Market in Nice California and Nice Gorbella, commit to supporting the national collection alongside the Restos du Cœur, which takes place this year on March 6th and 7th. Objective: to offer one million meals.

Last year, 1,917 tons of food supplies were collected in the stores of the brand.

Since 2006, Carrefour and Danone have been committed to supporting the work of the Restos du Cœur. From February 24 to March 8, 2015, for every two Danone products purchased, one meal is offered to the Restos du Cœur. At the end of the operation, Carrefour and Danone pledge to donate a million meals to the association.

Participation in the national collection is in line with the ongoing actions conducted by Carrefour Nice TNL and Nice Lingostière stores, as well as Carrefour Market Nice Gorbella and California. Every day, the association’s trucks collect food supplies to redistribute them.

About Les Restos du Cœur

Founded by Coluche in 1985, Les Restos du Cœur is an association under the French 1901 law, recognized as a public utility under the official name “Les Restaurants du Cœur – Les Relais du Cœur”. It aims to help and provide volunteer assistance to the underprivileged, particularly in the food sector by providing access to free meals, and by participating in their social and economic integration, as well as any action against poverty in all its forms. 30 years later, 130 million balanced meals were distributed by the association (2013-2014). Unfortunately, Les Restos du Cœur has exceeded the mark of one billion meals served since its creation. It should be noted that the majority of the association’s resources come from donations and bequests (44.9% in 2013-2014).
