Christian Estrosi, Deputy Mayor of Nice and President of the Nice Cรดte d’Azur Metropolis, in the presence of Rudy Salles, his Deputy in charge of Tourism, International Relations, and Neighborhood Activities, along with numerous personalities, will announce at 8:50 PM on Tuesday, March 6th, the closing of the 2014 Carnival.

carnaval2014-7.jpg After the afternoon carnival parade at 2:30 PM, which will see the 18 floats take their final lap, place will be made for the closing ceremony. As tradition dictates, the King will leave Place Massรฉna for one last lap of honor on the Promenade des Anglais.

After days of overseeing Place Massรฉna and its many visitors, he proudly presented his 130th birthday cake to bystanders, all of whom left with a slice of it stored in their smartphone.

During his reign, he fulfilled his role as a festive event and satisfied the appetite of all the spectators coming from the four corners of the World.

In memories, one can keep the traditional flower battles, carnival parades, and also the integration of two new concepts: the gastronomic lunch in the Massรฉna Ferris wheel, not forgetting the solidarity festivity, the giant zumba in favor of hospitalized children.

The “tradi-modern” influence of the carnival is by no means undeserved and becomes, more than ever, the key phrase of the editions of the third millennium.

After the formal announcement of the dates and the theme of the 2015 carnival, His Majesty the “King of Gastronomy” will be burned at sea. The Castle Hill will then blaze, and a musical fireworks display will definitively close the festivities.
