On Sunday, October 23, in Saint-Jeannet, the second edition of the Trail des Baous will take place, the 11th stage of the “Challenge Trail Nature 06.”
From the balconies of the Mediterranean to the volcanic rocks of the Estérel, passing through the Baous of Saint-Jeannet, the middle country with the Paillon valley, the Audibergue plateau, and the Mentonnais, the high country with the valleys of the Gordolasque and Roya up to the snowy slopes of Castérino, this 4th edition of the “Challenge Trail Nature 06,” organized in partnership with the Departmental Commission of Off-Stadium Races (CDCHS), offers sports courses in exceptional natural sites of our department, in a spirit of respect and promotion of this environment:
11 events in 2011 with 17 races on the program
–Trail des Baous
Discovery Challenge: 18.5 km
Family Hike: 13 km
Nature Hike on the theme: birds of the cliffs
Bib collection: from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
9:30 a.m.: start* of the Discovery Trail Challenge of 18.5 km with 920 meters of positive elevation gain.
8:30 a.m.: start* of the Family Hike of 13 km on the official trail course, with 600 meters of positive elevation gain.
At 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.: the Nature Hike on the theme: birds of the cliffs.
Meet at the General Council stand with an agent from the departmental parks service to discover the birds and other animals of cliff environments and learn to recognize them by their songs, tracks, and other clues. Duration: 1 hour to 1 hour and 30 minutes, registration on site.
1:30 p.m.: award ceremony for the 4th “Challenge Trail Nature 06,” following the award ceremony for the Trail des Baous.
