Tuesday, October 18th, 10 AM at 57 California Avenue, Nice
The Blue Week, from October 17th to 23rd, is a national initiative that involves residents of retirement homes, their families, and staff in activities contributing to civic life. It aims to maintain connection and solidarity between residents and the wider public.
In Nice, the Pauliani Foundation organized, as part of Blue Week, the operation “The Heartโs Layette” with the participation of the retirement home residents they oversee, and their families, for the benefit of the Santa Maria maternity ward.
The project: knitting layettes for the newborns of the Santa Maria maternity ward. This project engaged as many residents, families of residents, and volunteers (internal to the foundation) as possible to gather enough yarn.
The organizers of this event, members of the Pauliani Foundation, accompanied by seven retirement home residents, will deliver the knitted layettes created by the participants of this project.
The goals for the residents:
To engage residents in a common project, stimulate them to foster a desire to resume an activity.
To promote mutual aid and solidarity among residents, encourage their desire to be useful by sharing their skills with others.
To enable them to contribute, even if only in a small way.
