The Nice team secured their first away victory of the season against Valencia (5-2). With the 2 points from the win, the Nice Eagles are now in 3rd place in the Division 1 championship! Next Saturday, the Nice team (3rd) will host Courbevoie (4th) starting at 7 PM.
The Azur team started the match very well by putting pressure on from the first minutes of play. Despite multiple attempts from Nice, Valencia’s goalie let nothing through. A technical issue interrupted the match for more than 20 minutes. Upon returning to the ice, the Lynx woke up and caught Jimmy Lundberg off guard (1-0).
In the 2nd period, the Eagles completely controlled the game. After 5 minutes, Nathan Bernier managed to equalize (1-1). The Eagles gained a double numerical advantage. Despite good opportunities, Nice couldn’t make the Lynx’s goalie tremble.
It wasn’t until the 3rd period that Nice took the lead on the scoreboard. Michal Dian, Stefan Majernik, and again Michal Dian secured the win in 8 minutes (1-4)!
With 2 minutes remaining, the Lynx took advantage of a numerical superiority to score their second goal. But 15 seconds before the final whistle, Stefan Rusnak scored Nice’s 5th goal of the evening. This victory allows the Eagles to rise to 3rd place.
