An International Grandmaster since 1970, he competed in 10 world championship finals from 1978 to 1998 and holds one of the most impressive records in the history of the game.
The legendary summit battle between two giants KASPAROV / KARPOV in 1984, which captivated the entire world, is still remembered.
Anatoli KARPOV, an ambassador for UNICEF, is also a prominent philatelist, ranked among the top ten current collectors worldwide.
