Mr. Eric Ciotti, President of the Alpes-Maritimes General Council, will visit the beaches of Mandelieu-la Napoule where FORCE 06 will be in action to contribute to their restoration.

The heavy rains on Saturday, November 5, and Sunday, November 6, 2011, as well as the sea storms on November 7 and 8, have severely affected the towns and residents of the Alpes-Maritimes. The General Council has mobilized all its resources to maintain a maximum level of response and address the consequences of these weather events through FORCE 06.

This visit will allow for an assessment as well as provide an account of the actions of FORCE 06 and its involvement in effectively securing the damaged sites and assisting the affected residents.
It is worth noting that a large portion of FORCE 06’s agents, totaling 186, were mobilized for 5 days across 27 operations to clear roads, remove fallen trees from power lines, clear waterways of tree trunks obstructing water flow, and finally clean affected homes and public spaces. Interventions have taken place or are ongoing in Auribeau-sur-Siagne, Pegomas, Biot, Villeneuve-Loubet, Cagnes-sur-Mer, Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, Beaulieu-sur-Mer, Beausoleil, and Mandelieu-la Napoule.

Let us recall that the General Council has also allocated a sum of 2.5 million euros to help the cities and individuals affected by these weather events cope with exceptional expenses.
