The NUC Badminton team was fighting for their place in National 3 during the final day of interclub matches. A victory or draw against Nîmes, combined with a defeat of Aix-en-Provence against Garéoult, would secure the 4th and final qualifying spot in the Elite.
Even though Nîmes was already out of contention, their main team was fielded. It required a lot of composure and focus to secure a 4-4 draw, release the pressure, and celebrate the achievement.
The captain, Bastien MOREAU, does not hide his pleasure: “We arrived in N3 with the same team as in Regional 1, and we realized from the first day that the national level was much higher, but we didn’t give up and the hard work eventually paid off. It was tough until the end, but the essential thing is that we will be present next season.”
