OGC Nice: Governatori is uncompromising

Defeated by ASSE (0-2) on Saturday, OGC Nice has fallen to 19th place in the Ligue 1 standings. This situation is highly displeasing to the club’s former No. 2, Patrick Governatori, who particularly blames the ex-coach, ร‰ric Roy, and doesn’t hide his desire for change(s).

Defeated at home on Saturday by AS Saint-ร‰tienne (0-2), the Gym has slipped into the relegation zone (19th). This situation undermines the aims set this summer by the president, Jean-Pierre Rivรจre.

Former general manager of OGC Nice, Patrick Governatori (a minority shareholder of the club, 22%) is not at all fond of the policy led since the start of the 2011-2012 season.

Governatori criticizes Roy and wants Courbis

In his eyes, the person responsible is ร‰ric Roy, the former coach, appointed as the general manager a week ago. โ€œWe are paying for a crappy recruitment. (On Saturday, against Saint-ร‰tienne) Abriel didn’t play an acceptable match, and you have him for three years. (โ€ฆ) Dja Dje-Dje, Guiรฉ-Guiรฉ, and Pentecรดte have scored one goal among them in Ligue 1 this season. There were plenty of mistakesโ€, he stated on lequipe.fr.

Furthermore, Patrick Governatori criticizes the promotion of Renรฉ Marsiglia (former assistant of ร‰ric Roy) last week: โ€œThe recent reshuffle is like replacing a wooden leg with a plaster leg: it changes nothing. For me, if nothing is done, weโ€™re going to Ligue 2.โ€

He further estimates that Rolland Courbis, a football consultant on RMC, would be the man for the situation: โ€œWe need a confirmed coach, and for me, he would be the solution.โ€

How will Jean-Pierre Rivรจre react to the fury of the club’s former No. 2?
