The association Panda06 Production kicks off the 2012 edition of the Tremplin Nice Zik Zak dedicated to young talents. The appointment is set with the five groups selected for the semi-final on Thursday, December 8, starting at 7:30 PM at the Lino Ventura Theater in Nice.
For the Nice Tremplin Zik Zak 2012 edition, more than twenty artists responded to the call for applications last September. Following the pre-selection trials and interviews in November, only five of the most promising groups from the local music scene were selected by a professional jury.
This year, groups from very different backgrounds chosen for their talent, originality, and motivation will be in the spotlight. Contre-Jour, Darcan, Les Pโtits Gars Laids, Monophonic Interzone, and Bikini Bottom will share the stage at the Lino Ventura Theater on Thursday, December 8, for a 30-minute concert each during the semi-final of the competition.
The three finalist groups will have the chance to benefit from the artistic support provided by “La Ruche,” established by the association Imago Production, and will meet again at the grand finale in autumn 2012.
A few words about the selected groups:
Darcan [Rock Song]: Darcan is lucid madness, an antidote to a world going crazy. Darcan is the adventure wind that urges us to leave the highway when we least expect it to take side roads. Darcan is also bewitching poetic lyrics, musicians who send their chords to another dimension.
Les Pโtits Gars Laids [Acoustic Song]: Winners of the festival “Les Nuits du Sud” talent contest in 2011, the four musicians offer festive and warm music, a stimulating acoustic sound illustrated by lyrics about funny and moving everyday life stories.
Monophonic Interzone [Electro Stoner]: Monophonic Interzone stands apart from current musical trends with an Electro-Stoner style in its early stages in the underground scene. According to the band members, Monophonic Interzone is more than just a band, but the catharsis of their explosive creative madness.
Contre Jour [New Wave]: Contre Jour’s first album, “One Night at the Station,” offers an energetic and deep sound between rock and new wave, with various influences but mainly focused on the ’80s and ’90s. Their seductive compositions are reminiscent of The Cure, Joy Division, or Depeche Mode.
Bikini Bottom [Approximate Rock]: Bikini Bottom is a trio of superheroes with electro-trash beats and hip-hop rhythms. Enhanced by an atypical staging with members full of energy, each song becomes an obsession.
Regarding La Ruche:
The three finalists will be supported by the “La Ruche” program for one year:
- artistic & logistical support by Frรฉdรฉric Luzignant from the CNRR of Nice and David Benaroche from Imago.
- three-day stage residency at the Lino Ventura Theater
-

-

The winner of the Nice Zik Zak finale (autumn 2012) will receive communication support from the cultural communication agency Fonรฉtiq and will be programmed by Panda06 Production (Festival Crossover).
An event not to be missed for those who are passionate about good music.
