The beauty of the market, the azure sun, the welcome of producers and sellers
Yesterday morning, Sylvie Goulard visited the Forville Market in Cannes.
Just steps away from the Palais des Festivals, the European Deputy chose to meet the merchants and the locals of Cannes who rolled out the “red carpet” for her.
No promises, she doesn’t walk on water, but straightforward, always smiling and educational, she listened attentively to the producers reinstalled in the Siagne valley, at the gates of Cannes, despite the property pressure.
โThe highs and lows of being an entrepreneur farmerโ
If the quality of the products (olives, salads, local zucchinis) was naturally present, Marseillaise Sylvie Goulard appreciates them but above all, she knows perfectly the stakes of the common agricultural policy, particularly the excesses of aid to large cereal growers.
Listening to Pascale Vaillant’s explanations, she was particularly attentive to the necessary aids for the installation of young farmers, observing the generational leap, with the return of grandchildren to head farms that their parents had abandoned out of despair!
Sylvie Goulard has made a commitment and during her next visit, she will go on site to these farms, but also to the plots of community gardens and shared gardens, which participate in the same policy of seeking quality products, healthier living, and preserving the living environment and landscapes.
Heading to Grasse, a deputy with a scent!
At a brisk pace, she met with the Syndicate of Aromatic Products Manufacturers to work upstream on the laws and directives being planned, an aspect not often visible with European parliamentarians.
For instance, the ongoing negotiations of trade and free trade agreements between Europe and the United States, or with Japan, require, to defend European industries, a perfect mastery of economic realities and legal difficulties faced by entrepreneurs in the sector, the stakes of research and patents, regulations, and their evolution.
The conclusion of a campaign day of one of the outgoing French European Deputies, whose work and commitment are recognized by all?
We do not have the right to shun these elections and not take an interest in the role of the European Parliament or the European Commission, which will be renewed shortly thereafter.
