Already strengthened by numerous works for students, the Federation of Corporations and Student Associations of Alpes-Maritimes (FACE 06) is now offering social and supportive housing for rent in Nice, accessible upon application submission. A new string to their bow to tackle the social and economic precariousness that students may face.
Graig Monetti, president of FACE 06, had recently announced his desire to address the difficulties faced by Nice students in finding housing. This was the case during the laying of the first stone of the future Student House, for example, but also during the inauguration of the new Agoraé premises earlier this week, the student social and supportive grocery store, which is now over three years old. A new project seemed imminent then.
5 apartments from 29 to 45 m2
FACE members and volunteers are already helping students in various fields, organizing meetings and interviews to provide advice on building a CV, cooking workshops, tips for successfully completing and understanding administrative procedures, better managing their banking situation through advice, etc… but nothing yet on housing.
It is now done with Apparté!
These are five apartments from 29 to 45 m2, located on Cyrille Besset Avenue in Nice which are potentially available for rent. These social and supportive housing units will be accessible upon submission of a detailed application file before July 30, 2015, and can be visited during open house days organized soon or by booking an appointment via Facebook or email.
Here are the details of the operation:
“An Allocation Committee will meet from July 30 to August 18 to review the applications. Upon acceptance, the student will move in before the start of the school year.
Moreover, FACE 06 will greatly facilitate access to a guarantor and the payment of the security deposit by setting up a financing fund ensured by our banking or institutional partners.
This offer, however, does not respond to a form of assistance. The application file must reflect the student’s real involvement in their success and in the life of their campus. A rigorous and regular social follow-up of the student beneficiary of the Apparté system will be set up to assess their educational, financial, and personal situation.
Of course, ongoing support will be provided to the beneficiary of the Apparté plan. Because solidarity and mutual assistance are factors of success.”
The scene is set, all that’s left is for you to try to take advantage of this offer if you are concerned, or to talk about it around you if you know someone who might be!
