Already on the lookout for the next season, the Eagles are organizing a nationwide tournament at Jean Bouin at the end of August.
Alexandre DUYCK, the manager of NHCA, presents this event: “We are very happy to welcome these great teams to our place. It is the first time in the history of Nice hockey that a French champion comes to Nice! Spectators will witness very high-level matches. We thank the official sponsor of the Tournament, ASECA 2000, which has supported the Eagles for over 3 years and is involved in the life of the club throughout the year.”
In fact, the lineup of participating teams is impressive, starting with the 2014 French Elite champion: The Briançon Red Devils, who will compete in the Champions Hockey League.
The second team is the most titled club in France: CHAMONIX! The Chamois hold the record for French championship titles with 30 titles in total. Chamonix competes in the French Elite championship (Ligue Magnus).
Noblesse oblige; the third team is the “nemesis” of the Eagles: The Mulhouse Scorpions, who “snatched” the qualification in the semifinal of the French D1 championship against the Nice Eagles last March.
And finally, the Eagles, on behalf of whom Pascal MARGERIT, assistant coach, highlights the sporting aspect: “It’s an opportunity for the players to have 3 good preparation matches. It’s a rare occasion that Nice club prepares so well.”
