The two senior teams faced defeat this weekend, with the Federal 3 team losing to Aubagne and the Excellence B team to Voiron.

The flagship team of Stade Niçois, after being promoted to Federal 2, had the opportunity to qualify for the Federal 3 championship quarter-finals but narrowly lost, 18-17, against Aubagne at the Léo-Lagrange stadium in Draguignan (a neutral venue).

The Azuréens led the score for most of the match. It was just minutes before the end that Aubagne overtook them, with a try that was not converted. The Niçois might harbor regrets, particularly with missed penalties by their opening player.

Meanwhile, the reserves missed their Excellence B championship final against Voiron, which was held in Sisteron, resulting in a defeat with a score of 17-6. Stade Niçois had a chance to win their first trophy. Even though they could only score through penalties, the Niçois can still be proud of their journey.

The summer is set to be busy at Arboras with preparations for a new season at a higher level, with a group to enhance and a high-level reserve. They just need to find the right balance…
