Jazz at the Matisse Museum

Latest News

This evening at 7:30 PM at the forecourt of the Matisse Museum, the So What* Company will be giving a concert. They will be joined by Michel Seyrat for French and Niçois texts (jazz and Nissart is possible! – says Alex Benvenuto, who is the inspiration behind it).

The So What Company has been practicing a form of jazz music, both written and improvised, for thirteen years in the 21st century: a jubilant music focused on listening and respect among musicians, designed for the public and the stage. Inventive and cheerful jazz to please the ear.

The result: written melodies and joyful improvisations, a blend of jazz fusion and contemporary music, created for the public and the stage.

Compositions and revisited standards, by a Company with a variable size, from quartet to septet. A common desire to come together around a shared language, that of today’s music—alive, free, festive, and creative.

Musical images inspired by the color and sound of a vibrant Côte d’Azur in the footsteps of Matisse.
