23rd Edhec Raid: Commitment and Respect for the Environment

Latest News

With yesterday’s departure, the 23rd edition of the Raid EDHEC takes place in the heart of the Southern Alps, concluding on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice.

The Raid EDHEC is a five-day multisport adventure race with orienteering. The finish will therefore be on Sunday afternoon on the Promenade des Anglais.

Since 2010, the Raid EDHEC has been part of the Fรฉdรฉration des Raids Multisports de Nature (FRMN), a federation of quality adventure races aiming to better represent this discipline to public authorities and the media, as well as to democratize it. This year, the Raid EDHEC rejoined the National Challenge of Multisport Adventure Races.

The course, renewed with each edition, will cover approximately 200 km and 8,000 meters of positive elevation gain for this 23rd edition, balanced between mountain biking and trail running. Each day also includes a rope challenge, a water sport, or an orienteering race. Commonly practiced events include Via Ferrata, Biathlon, Canyoning, Canoe-Raft, and Orienteering.

The association is intensifying its efforts in favor of the environment and is committed to protecting the areas over which the course runs, an endeavor recognized this year with the “sustainable development: sport commits” label awarded by the prestigious French Olympic Committee.

Ecological measures aligned with the associationโ€™s values have been implemented: waste recycling, EcoCup, and a carpooling system offered to competitors to reach the start in Nice.
