The shooting at the gay venue in Orlando where about fifty people died has created a lot of emotions within the LGBT community in Nice, one of the most prominent in France.

This shooting cruelly reminds us that hatred of others is still present. Embedded within the seams of society, homophobic, lesbophobic, biphobic, transphobic violence, the kind that scorns all those who do not conform to the norm, can strike and fall at any moment.

The Côte d’Azur LGBT Center is organizing a moment of reflection and tribute at its premises, 123 Rue de Roquebillière, in Nice, this Monday evening, June 13, at 7 p.m.

A moment of silence will be observed in remembrance.
