For four evenings (July 11, 12, 15, and 16 at 9 PM), Puccini’s LA BOHÈME will be presented in the pure tradition of lyric trestles in the heart of the village.

The show is organized by the OPUS-OPERA Association, which brings lyric art to the heart of the village of Gattières and the hinterland of Nice.

Professional soloists and a choir composed of seasoned amateurs unite their talents to offer the best of Giacomo Puccini’s work, composed between 1892 and 1895, a melodrama that ranks among the most beautiful and popular operatic works in the entire Italian repertoire.

The musical direction is provided by conductor Franck VILLARD, who has had the opportunity to conduct numerous concerts and operatic productions in France and abroad and has performed with several French and foreign orchestras.

The stage direction is by Pierre Mechanick, who successfully worked last year for the 2013 edition of the Opus Gattières Festival (L’Elisir d’Amore).

Choir direction: Stephan NICOLAY

8 solo singers*, 16 choristers as well as a children’s choir (Chœur du Broc), 20 musicians, and a complete team of stage technicians, a hairdresser, a makeup artist, costume designers…

The OPUS association was created in 1988, with the aim of promoting young professional artists and offering a broad audience the opportunity to discover the operatic repertoire.

For 25 years, it has organized a Festival every July, in the form of a lyric art workshop that mainly results in the performance of a work, several nights, in the heart of the village of Gattières. This spectacle attracts more than a thousand spectators, locals, regional, and European vacationers.
