On Saturday, June 25 and Sunday, June 26, the Cavigal club is organizing a 3-on-3 basketball tournament. Tournaments and activities are planned throughout the weekend at the Leyrit hall.
3-on-3 basketball is different from regular basketball. It is played on a half-court with only one basket. This weekend, the Cavigal Nice Basket club will be immersed in the rhythm of this sport by organizing the Nice-Riviera Challenge 3×3 for the fourth time.
Since 2012, Nice has regularly hosted 3×3 basketball competitions, notably the Open Brun, which is one of the 16 Open Brun events in France.
On Saturday, June 25, the club is organizing the last qualifying tournament for the Open Brun, which will take place the following day. This will allow basketball enthusiasts to test themselves on the floor of the Leyrit hall.
On Sunday, June 26, the Open Brun of Nice will take place. The tournament is a qualifier for the Open de France 3×3, which will be held in Orléans on July 30.
The day’s program includes: a senior men’s and women’s tournament. Professional and amateur teams will compete on the Niss’Angels court. There will also be several activities, such as a three-point shooting contest, dunk contest, youth tournament…
The tournament level will undoubtedly be high with the presence of several foreign teams, notably Czech and Slovak. The German national team will also participate in the 2016 edition.
This is the first time in history that Nice will host an international 3×3 tournament.
