After a week of training in Divonne-les-Bains, Claude Puel’s men are training again in Nice, entering the second phase of their preparation. OGC Nice will play their second friendly match this Friday against Etoile Frรฉjus-Saint Raphaรซl.

ogcnice_prepa.jpg Bodies are suffering this Thursday at Charles-Ehrmann, despite the advanced training schedules. To optimize preparation and limit the risk of sunstroke, the Nice club has moved the morning training earlier (8:15 to 10:00) and delayed the evening one (6:30 PM to 8:00 PM).

The preparation truly began last week in Divonne-les-Bains (Ain), featuring nearly twenty training sessions focused on physical and foundational work.

“The quality of this training camp was good, we could work on the basics. We are on schedule with our preparation,” analyzes Claude Puel, coach of OGC Nice. The camp concluded with their first preparation match resulting in a 0-2 loss to Bordeaux.

Back in their quarters, the Nice players are working more with the ball at their feet, as evidenced by this 11-a-side match on a reduced field yesterday morning. For a brief duration of 8 minutes, the players put in intensity, including quite vigorous contact to regain the ball. Noteworthy was the good involvement of the entire team, with no one wanting to lose this match, and the small organized games were a sign of determination and good atmosphere.

This Friday, the players of OGC Nice will make a short trip to Saint-Raphaรซl to face Etoile Frรฉjus-Saint Raphaรซl, which plays in National (3rd division). The Var club benefits from a partnership with the Nice club, which is why the two teams play each other regularly. Young players are also loaned out to gain experience in a lower division and find significant playing time.

A new friendly match has been added to Nice’s preparation. Indeed, the Aiglons will face the reigning French champion, Paris-Saint-Germain. The match will take place on Wednesday, July 23, at the Stade de la Mรฉditerranรฉe in Bรฉziers. A new very high-level opponent in the schedule since OGC Nice will have the honor of playing against FC Barcelona on Saturday, August 2, at the Allianz Riviera.
