Noëlle Perna and Mado take root at the Théâtre de Verdure in Nice.

Latest News

2014 is a “great year” for Noëlle Perna, who is stopping in Nice during her tour across France to present the latest installment of her character.

With her show “Mado prend Racine,” our favorite Niçoise takes us into the heart of her very colorful world, introducing new characters who are as quirky as they are entertaining!

The artist herself explains: “My characters evolve with my personal growth, with who I am. It’s this constant questioning that brings freshness to what we do.”

Mado La Niçoise decides to transform the demoralization of her bar’s customers into optimistic energy.

Generous and revolutionary, she decides to turn the gloom of her bar’s customers into creative energy, thus offering the audience a great theatrical moment… almost classical!

Mado takes root in the sense that she establishes herself in the world of humor. She has gone pro. Previously an amateur, she is now a true star of “shovebiz.” But Mado also embraces Racine, the classical tragedian, as she decides to stage “Phèdre”…

There is real performance in this show and lots of surprises.

Created in 1987, revealed to the general public in 2003 with “Mado la Niçoise,” who is Mado?

“This character was a customer at my bar. I would impersonate her to make my other customers laugh. She was styled like Mado, spoke like her. Even if she’s no longer here today, she continues to live on through me,” says… the “real” Mado.
