Pédibus is really great!

Yesterday morning, students from Bellanda, Paul d’Essling, and Cimiez Arenas schools took the Nice second pedestrian line “Pedibus” for the first time.

From 8 a.m., the race begins. The starting point is the “Aiglon” stop (intersection of Avenue du Monastère/Voie Romaine).

Lauriano Azinheirinha, Deputy Mayor of Nice in charge of education, Fatima Khaldi-Bououghroum, Deputy Mayor of Nice, and their advisors were present to welcome the children and kick off this school route.

In rows, two by two, wearing fluorescent yellow vests, holding stop signs, accompanied by parents…

Everything is in place to ensure the route is completed calmly and safely.

Filled with joy and good spirits, the ten young students are delighted to walk to school, surrounded by their friends, over a distance that can vary from 250 meters to 1.7 kilometers.

Supervised by voluntary and volunteer parents, this new route is both economical and ecological. No more cars stuck in traffic jams and the stress of being late. This service is positive for everyone; you just need to be on time at one of the two pedestrian stops.

This second initiative was implemented by the city of Nice and the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis to promote the development of transportation modes and the emergence of an eco-citizen collective awareness.
