For the fight for living together and fraternity, SOS Racisme organized the inauguration of a photo exhibition by Bettina Rheims last week, presented at the Raoul Mille library until September 26. This initiative is part of a national campaign entitled “passport for fraternity,” whose core project is a photo exhibition of personalities.
The Nice exhibition is organized by the SOS Racisme committee 06, with the support and presence of Thierno Hamidou Bah, Departmental President of SOS Racisme, Lauriano Azinheirinha, Deputy Mayor of Nice, in charge of education, and Maty Diouf, Deputy responsible for Women, Parity, Fighting Discrimination, and Francophonie, at today’s inauguration.
Nearly 80 students attended the exhibition this morning, comprising 3 primary school classes and 1 from a high school. They all came to discover this exhibition, where personalities are portrayed, most of whom are French, from diverse origins and different religions, but sharing a unique message in each photo. For the acceptance of others and differences.
Among the guests was Mr. Elie Buzyn from Paris, a man featured in the exhibition photos.
Elie Buzyn, 86, is a survivor of Auschwitz and the “Death March.” He later became a doctor and engaged in the causes of SOS Racisme. He vowed to always testify, until his death, about the horror he saw and lived through due to exclusion and fear of others. He is committed to transmitting these values to the younger generation to ensure the future, just as SOS Racisme does.
Beautiful messages of hope when considering the hardships the country has endured this year and the climate of insecurity and fear that prevails these days.
