Imagine for a second: a city “owned” by artists… This is the experience that [MARKET ZONE](https://www.de-lart.org/asso/marketzone/programme.html) invites you to live. For 3 weeks, from September 19 to October 8, Nice will become the playground for artists, designers, architects, graphic designers, urban planners…
They will specifically invest the Libรฉration market in Nice*, and more than twenty other locations in the city (museums, galleriesโฆ).
Through a multidisciplinary, rich, and generous program that is free and accessible to all, Market Zone aims to lead a broad audience towards a direct experience of art and highlight the repercussions of such an experience on the development of the local area.
Market Zone is a long-term program that began in 2012 and concludes this fall with an exhibition and the publication of a catalog.
Written by the associations DEL’ART (Nice, France) and Art.Ur (Cuneo, Italy)ยฐ, supported by the European Union and local authorities, it invites artists to reflect on the place of art in public spaces. The theme of markets is unifying, carrying common values and historical, cultural, social, political, economic, or even gastronomic stakes.
The Libรฉration market in Nice will be taken over by works from artists, painters, as well as designers, architects, graphic designers, and urban plannersโฆ
In Nice, in partnership with many cultural players, Market Zone unfolds “in resonance” with programming in over 20 cultural and associative venues.
The active collaboration between cultural institutions, associations, artists, researchers, merchants, and local businesses aims to support the development of an exchange based on common cultural initiatives. Through this synergy, Market Zone seeks to bring a broad audience to a direct experience of art and highlight the effects of such an experience on the development of the local area.
Utopia, the magic of rediscovered places, a sensitive, sensorial journey, the Libรฉration market lends itself to the game of a new exploration. For 3 weeks, art settles in the city through a multidisciplinary, rich, and generous program that is free and accessible to everyone.
