A festive 4th edition of the Russian Film Festival in Nice

Throughout the week, the city of Nice is highlighting the Russian Cinema Festival. The launch of this 4th edition took place this Tuesday, September 20th at the Pathรฉ Massรฉna.


Screenings of films in the original version with French subtitles, meetings with actors and directors, two documentaries, and two animated films are on the program for this Festival.
The screening of “War and Peace” is highly anticipated and will surely be the highlight of this event.

This year, the Festival is dedicated to 120 years of Russian cinema. It was on May 4, 1896, in the “Aquarium” summer garden in Saint Petersburg that the first screening was held. However, the 80th birthdays of Stanislav Govorukhin, the 65th of Alexander Sokurov, the 80th of Emil Loteanu, and the 30th anniversary of the passing of Andrei Tarkovsky will also be celebrated or commemorated.

These performances take place at the Pathรฉ Massรฉna cinema (31 Avenue Jean Mรฉdecin) and at the Nice Cinematheque (3 Esplanade Kennedy). Admission to the sessions is free.

The program presentation was held in the presence of Jean-Marc Giaume, Municipal Councillor, delegate for Cinema representing Philippe Pradal, Mayor of Nice, Nikolai Borodatchev, General Director of the Russian State Film Fund “Gosfilmofond” and Sergey Molchanov, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Marseille.
