A peaceful march in tribute to Hervé Gourdel will start from the meeting point at the port of Nice at 11 a.m.
It will undoubtedly be followed by a great number of participants wanting to express their condolences and show solidarity to Hervé Gourdel’s family and loved ones.
And through this gesture, also send a message of resolve to his murderers: The murder of an innocent does not bend a Nation.
Hervé Gourdel was a mountain guide who was very close to the Alpes-Maritimes Departmental Committee of the French Mountaineering Federation and its president Jean Luc Belliard. Therefore, the CDOS has requested that all sporting competitions of all levels (youth and adult) begin this weekend or next weekend with a moment of reflection.
On the occasion of this march, restrictions on traffic and parking will be implemented from 10:30 a.m. along the route of the procession. Under the authority of the Police Services, the circulation of all types of vehicles may be halted, except for priority general interest vehicles.
Traffic will be reopened on these routes as the procession progresses, reaching the area of the Théatre de Verdure.
